We are saddened to hear about the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II. William Golding wrote about the Queen in his unpublished journals, which cover the period 1971–1993. Originally a dream journal, Golding actually dreamed about her a number of times! The most striking entry is from 1988, when Golding was knighted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
