Jack Thorne and David McKenna honoured with IndieWire’s Wavelength Award

By: Nicola Presley

Writer Jack Thorne and actor David McKenna were honoured with the Wavelength Award for the TV adaptation of Lord of the Flies.

Each year, IndieWire holds its IndieWire Honors event to ‘recognize the best in creativity in film and TV’. In 2026, they have presented their Wavelength Award to the writer and co-creator of the Lord of the Flies TV show, Jack Thorne, and to one of the actors – David McKenna – who so memorably portrayed fan favourite Piggy. In the acceptance speech, McKenna called his castmates ‘brothers’ and insisted that this award was for all involved in making the show: ‘This is for everyone’. Congratulations to the team!
