Love Books competition

The Marlborough LitFest is running a writing competition in association with English Literature at Bath Spa University! Golding’s daughter Judy is one of the judges for this exciting project and she looks forward to reading your entries!

Every year, William Golding Limited sponsor the Golding Speaker at the festival, although sadly it won’t take place in person in 2020, due to the COVID-19 crisis. Golding grew up in Marlborough and his novel The Pyramid draws upon his early life there.

The competition is open until 17th July. Entrants must submit ‘creative, passionate, and engaging responses which celebrate their love of reading’. There are three age categories: 13–16, 17–19, 20+. All the details are here.
