Permissions

William Golding’s books have been extensively adapted. Lord of the Flies has been made into two films, a 2026 TV series by Jack Thorne, and a ballet by Matthew Bourne. Rites of Passage, Close Quarters, and Fire Down Below have been made into a TV series starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Pincher Martin has been made into an opera by Oliver Rudland.
